I was disappointed at how One UI 7.0 limited so many customizability features of widgets.
- Now we can't have transparent/translucent widgets, only blurry ones which only have 3 levels of "transparency". I know many people asked for the latter but I don't understand why the past ones had to be eliminate
- Some widgets allow to eliminate the background, others don't. Gallery widgets in which I had PNG pictures now have a background I can't eliminate, absolutely ruining the point of PNG. For some reason, this only happens with the square frame with the "adjust to widget" setting. However, all the other options cut the edges of the widget or squeeze the pictures, so none of them look good.
- Gallery widgets sometimes reduce its size automatically after locking and unlocking the screen for some reason although the widget apparently takes the same space as before (?) I have to reduce the size of the widget and then make it big again to get around this, which seems to be an actual bug.
- The ability to resize widgets is very limited now. I can't make vertical gallery widgets anymore, only horizontal and squared ones, also they are HUGE and take too much screen space.
- The borders of the Samsung Notes' single note widget can't be changed. When I leave said widget in the size it used to be, it now has a stadium shape which cuts the edges of the note, and the only way to be able to see it complete is making the widget bigger, although we still get very round borders. It would be nice to be able to choose the borders independent of the size.
These changes absolutely messed my home screen configuration after I updated to One UI 7.0 on my Tab S10+. Apps and widgets no longer fit the way it used to, plus when I switch to vertical mode it just throws them anywhere and look like a complete mess. I don't mind the new options, but I would like to know if other people agree we should still have the option to use the old ones as well.
In Ui7 for tablets, landscape and portrait you can have 2 completely different setups.
I have downloaded Goodlock and the HomeUp module to give me a bigger grid, and more apps in my dock. I have fourteen. It is best to use an even number across
